This month is poetry month. The poetry that I used for my leaf was a haiku. I did haiku because I know a little bit more about poetry than the others because I did haiku in history class.
My haiku was about nature. It was my original history haiku but I changed a few things about it.

I’m reading “ I survived the Joplin tornado” .
My favorite part of the book was when the tornado hit because it was the main part and there’s a lot of adrenaline. I could picture the parts, and the stuff that was happening in the book. I thought it was really fascinating and I looked up a picture of what the aftermath of the Joplin tornado looked like and it was crazy to see that they survived that.
There were two parts that stuck to me the most, which are the two major storms he was in. The first storm was when they were at a different place where they were originally chasing the storm, but then they were heading back to Joplin, and realized that the storm traveled all the way there. The tornado formed and destroyed all of Joplin. The first storm was a little more of a minor storm, and then the second one is really big and major. The minor one there was just a lot of wind and hail and the major one. There was a tornado and a bunch of rain and wind.
My favorite character in the book is probably Mr. Tucker because he’s brave and he has cool stories. I don’t really have a least favorite character.
I can’t really relate to any of the characters because I’ve never been in a major tornado like that. But I guess I kinda relate to Dex because when you’re young, I feel like you want to be with the older kids like he’s doing with Mr. Tucker.
If I were to trade places with one of the characters, I would trade places with the dog because I do not want to be in the situation that any of them win in. He stayed home in the basement.

So, after Mr. Tucker invited him to go storm chasing he was so excited but was worried his parents won’t let him. So they had dinner together and talked about how it was going to go.
Dex’s Dad was really interested and after he checked out his cool SUV he was kinda bummer that he couldn’t go too. He was really excited for Dex and was happy for him.

I just started my book and i’m a little less than 5 chapters into the book. My book is located in Joplin Missouri.
The characters in my book are Dexter or Dex, Zeke (his dog), Stephanie and Bobbie (Tucker twins), Mr Tucker, Jeremy, Mom, Dad, Dylan, Mike, and Dr. Norman Gage.
The time line of this story is in 2011.
So far, what has happened is Dexter was walking his dog while on his bike and stopped to talk to Mr. Tucker. Mr. Tucker invited him to go storm chasing.

I haven’t really thought about my new goals or anything like that but here’s a few that I have thought about.
My first one is to keep my science, math, English, and history grade up at least in the 90’s. I can do this by making sure all my homework is turned in and also checking all the answers before turning my homework in
My second one is to be a more encouraging friend and student as well as a cheerleader. I can do this by helping others when help is needed and making sure that everything isokay.
My third goal is to make sure that I turn my homework in at least a day before it is due. I can accomplish this by making sure I get my homework done and I can also do my homework during any free time that I have.
My fourth one is to try and stay out of the drama. This way I don’t look bad in front of everyone. Especially because I am on there cheer time it’s not good for me to look bad. I can complete this goal by keeping my unnecessary opinions to myself and speaking up for what is right and not wrong.
Today we chose our book clubs. I chose the book “I Survived”.
I remember in 4th grade our teacher asked what our favorite book series was and I chose I Survived. Now in the yearbook it says our whole class’s favorite book. I chose I Survived because I like to learn about the past and I think it’s pretty cool knowing past natural disasters.

In my last book report I already finished the book, so here’s another book that I really liked!
My book A Wolf Called Wander was a book I read in English class. It is about a wolf named Sharp and his family pack. His family pack passes away and he has to learn how to live all alone. He learned how to hunt, grow, survive, and protect himself.
He went through a bunch of challenges throughout his journey. He had to face other packs,the loss of his family, a cougar, a fire, and losing his raven.
I really liked this book because I feel like it helped me understand that wolfs and animals in general go through a ton. It also helped me stay close with my family and be thankful for the food on the table, and a roof over my head.
I hope you will read this book and enjoy it like I did!;)

Hi for this post I’m going to tell you about what I did over the thanksgiving break!
The first day of my break I went to the park with Kennedy B. We went for a walk with her dog and we went down to a little creek and sat on a rock and just talked about life. Then we went on a trail and her mom took her dog Nala off the leash and she ran around and it was so much fun. Then we walked home. After that Kennedy and I filmed a few tiktok’s. Then we both went through each other’s camera roll. 🤣
After that we drove to my house and we played at my house for like an hour and a half while my mom was talking to her mom. The next day we packed for our trip. We drove to Oklahoma. We had dinner at my grandmas house. The same night we went to my grandpa’s house. I stayed there for 2 days. After that on Wednesday my grandmas family and I have a Thanksgiving dinner party. The next day we went to Missouri to see my other grandparents. We stayed there for 3 days. Then we drove 10 hours back to Texas.
And that’s what I did for my Thanksgiving break!

Today I’m going to talk about one of my favorite books. My favorite book is “THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY”!!!
I LOOOOOOVE this book because it’s about everything I like … although there is a TON of drama in this book and it gets a little crazy. This book is a romance novel and the TV show just came out on Prime Video. Personally I think the book is better. There is a series to this book and those books are called “It’s Not Summer Without You, and “We”ll Always Have Summer”. I think ya’ll will really enjoy this book, and for all the boys out there, my brother liked watching the show with me so I think you would like it if he somewhat liked it.

Hi this is Simone, and for my first post I’m going to tell you some stuff about me!
I am 11 years old and I am in 6th grade. I LOVE MIDDLE SCHOOL! In middle school we get to do a lot of things we were not allowed to do in elementary school. I love my friends here.
I am on the MS Cheer Team, my mom is actually the coach for the team. The cheer team is 6th-8th grade and I have made so many new friends in different grades.
Tomorrow we have a MS PEP RALLY!!!
I love my teachers and my classes here at POPCS. I LOVE white days. They’re so fun! I love theology and choir. I really enjoy math too, I’m in honers math and I really like it because I always like to challenge myself.
I am also on the Drill Team but I’m pretty sure I’m going to quit because it is a little bit below my skill level and I would like more of a challenge.
I hope you enjoyed learning a few stuff about me!
